What a month!

Ok, I am officially writing off the entire month of September.  There were so many tests and doctor visits and hospital visits for my daughter that I’ve lost track.  If we weren’t on our way to these places we were getting things checked.  I know however, that as frustrating and stressful for me, it was nothing compared to what she went thru.  I hate not being able to help my child.  I couldn’t put a bandaid on it, kiss the pain away and say “all better now”.  And I know she would have preferred it.  After all this misery we know this, we don’t know what it is.  We know she is not lactose intolerant (I was hoping for this one), she doesn’t have celiac disease, or anything cancerous, or anything blocked.  I am glad she doesn’t have any of these things.  There is a little comfort in a diagnosis though.  At least you know what you are dealing with and what to expect.

On a lighter note, I uploaded and finally managed to relogin to my flickr account so I have some photos up.  If you care to take a look: pics

Football games

We had our first game yesterday. After driving around for awhile we finally found the field only to be left with trying to find a parking space. For some reason the field, playground and pool area was put in the middle of town with no parking area designated for it. So every side street and alley was packed. When did it become a normal practice to charge an admittance fee for elementary grade level football games? Is it not enough that we pay for the uniforms and do all the fund raising activities (and there are alot of them) and drive all over the three counties for the games, not to mention the concession stands that charge 2 dollars for fries? Maybe I wouldn’t have minded if someone had mentioned this before the game but no one did. Thankfully I had some cash in my wallet and could pay to get in but normally I don’t carry cash. I’ve got my checkbook, my cards and that’s it. I don’t know how much the next game is going to cost me or if 2 dollars per person is the norm.

We didn’t win our game but the girls had fun. Hopefully Saturday’s game will go better. At this point as long as we score it’s a step up.

The first game

Today is the first football game my daughter will be cheering at.  I’m not sure where we are going but hopefully we will get there and not be too late.  I somehow managed to sign her up for the traveling team.  I didn’t realize we had two different teams but what are you going to do when your child loves it and you can’t transfer her to the other one.  I’m trying to put the positive spin on it for myself and say that I’ll learn where everything is around here since we’ve only been in the area for a year.  Of course I’ve never been great at doing that so I have to keep reminding myself she’s happy and having fun, she’s happy and having fun.  We have to be there an hour early and stay after our game.  It’s going to be hot today so hopefully she doesn’t sweat to death in her outfit.  Who decided polyester was a good material?  And it’s long sleeves!

Well I’m off to the store to buy water and a ton of gatorade.  Wish us luck.

It’s a good day

I am having a good day today.  My hubby took the day off to spend some time together since the kids are now back in school and we can finally have some time alone.  We just got back from lunch at the new restaurant in town and it was so good.  A Caeser salad with shrimp and I got to have a Dirty Cow.  Never had one before but I will again.  It had milk and kahlua and not sure what else but tasted damn good and has kicked in.

The ASPCA has a free pet safety pack that you can get that has a window decal showing that pets are in the house along with a magnet with their toll free emergency number on it should your pet get into something.  In my house with Sherman it’s a given.  That dog will eat anything.  You can also download a free cat or dog ringtone for your cell phone.  I passed on that one since I hear barking enough as it is.  Check it out here.

Hello world!

This is my first attempt so bear with me. I am a 37 year old mother of three daughters. I’ve been married for 19 years. My oldest is 18 and is studying to be a paralegal. Next is my 12 yr old who is now in the 7th grade and thankfully loves it. My youngest is 9 and in the 4th grade. Our house is always busy between work, doctor’s appointments, cheerleading and car shows.
